CHRONICLE YOUR BLESSINGS
XScripture: Exodus 16:32

Then Moses said, "This is the thing which the Lord has commanded: 'Fill an omer with it, to be kept for your generations, that they may see the bread with which I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.' "

Do you ever forget things? Let’s face it: we all deal with memory lapses at times and most of us have forgotten at least one thing we wished we had remembered.

One thing we easily forget is how faithful God has been to us. Today’s verse demonstrates how important it is to the Lord that we never forget His faithfulness to us.

The Lord instructed Moses on how to store the manna as a reminder of how He fed the children of Israel in the wilderness for forty years. Sadly, as the Bible reveals, the people kept on forgetting how good God was to them. The Lord did not want them to forget, and He does not want us to forget either.

There are so many awesome ways in which the Lord demonstrates His love and faithfulness towards us, such as: answered prayers, answers to prayers never prayed, surprise blessings and all favours He has shown us.

How can we remember, especially when we find ourselves in a valley of darkness or a barren wilderness?

One of the ways to remember is to keep a daily prayer journal. Writing out your prayers, your thoughts and feelings, and the evidence of God’s hand in your life will strengthen your faith and trust in Him.

You can then look back over past journals and read about the amazing times God had intervened in your circumstances. A prayer journal becomes our personal testimony of how God has worked in our lives.

Let’s commit ourselves to making this activity a habit and to keeping this daily journal as a testimony of how awesome our Lord and Saviour is.

Prayer: Lord, I thank You for the many ways You have been a blessing to me. Help me to always remember Your goodness especially, in my dark moments. Scriptural Reading: Exodus 16:31-36
