In today's world Christianity has been a religion. In time of the apostles the title or what you say... 'Christian ' was given to the Christians because their life was alike Christ Jesus. an example of the life of Christ like giving, caring, sharing, etc. To say in simple to live the life like Jesus lived and wants us to live but in this time of world Christianity has been a religion that we follow and it's also our parents did and so did we. Its not what being a christian mean. My family also became Christian after i was born in the family so i was also one of them. I really didn't knew what it is to be a christian. I did went to Sunday school, i knew all the verses ans chapters i was supposed to know. I knew all my teachers and parents try to tell me from bible. But my life was not what a christian was supposed to have. After a long time of living a christian life as a smoker and drinker and saying myself as a christian i now know what a christian is and what a Christian's life is supposed to be like. I today remember what my teachers wanted to tell me from all those stories and verses and chapters i recited. All they wanted to tell me was to live a life like Christ did. So Sunday classes in our child hood are what we need. Sooner or later i come to realize what a christian is ..... and how is my life going.... am i being an example of Christ among the ones who don't know him???

How about you just teach them?
In college students can elect a religious studies class. Its not until a child is an adult and has formed opinions on their own that they should be expected to make decisions about religion, let them learn it there.
