RENEWED
Scripture: Ephesians 4:23-24

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

When we become Christians, God gives us a new heart with new desires. He also gives us new minds which must be filled with new thoughts. Babies are born with fresh new minds and then impressions are made in them that determines the course of the babies’ lives .The same thing is true of us when we are born again by the Spirit of the Lord. God closes the old chapter of our lives and opens a new chapter for us.

On the pages of that new chapter, we must write new words of life, love, and righteousness. We must build new thoughts into our minds and allow the Holy Spirit to guide our decisions and actions.

Instead of allowing the old ways in which we used to live to continue to rule us, we must allow the grace to God to touch our minds so that the life of Christ can be lived through us.

The old ways of selfishness must yield to the new way of love; the old ways of greed must yield to the new way of generosity; the old ways of retaliation must yield to the new way of forgiveness; the old way of revenge must yield to the new way of peace.

Since we are born again by the Spirit of God, we must allow the Spirit of God to form new thoughts and actions in us. We must be so full of Christ that the world will see Him in our words and actions. That happens when we consciously make Him a part of our daily life through prayer, Bible study and meditation.

Prayer: Lord, make me new in heart, mind and words. Scriptural Reading: Ephesians 4:17-24
