There Was A Man Who Had A Dream
I wrote this poem in thanksgiving for the of Martin Luther King JNR
There Was A Man Who Had A Dream

There was a man who had a dream
that there would be a day
when men would live in harmony
and for this dream to happen he did pray.

He dreamt that man would not be judged
by the colour of his skin
for every man is an equal soul to God
and every man is kin.

And so this blessed man gave
the silent, proud man a choice,
allowing him the pride of his heritage,
giving him back his stolen voice.

So the walls of ignorance began to shake
and crumble at his powerful tone,
every man began to taste liberty,
allowed a deserved life and home.

But so cruelly was his life
by another man taken away.
Lord, did you weep for the evil
and ignorance on that terrible day?

But his legacy lives on
and we pray that it never dies.
For every man is beautiful...that same,
amn precious in God's eyes.
