USE THE WORD
Scripture: Joshua 1:8
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Anytime we worry and become anxious, we send a message to God. We tell Him that we don’t trust Him with the things we have prayed about or committed to Him. Through our worry and anxiety, we create a wall of hindrance between us and the blessings of the Lord. That wall affects the answers to our prayer.
Many of us know how to pray but we don’t know how to stop worrying. We don’t know how to cast all our cares on the Lord. We are so used to seeing the negative in every situation. Even when the Lord gives us assurance in our hearts concerning a request we have brought before Him, we still continue to worry.
One way to overcome your worry is to speak the Word of God frequently. Normally, when you talk to yourself, you shut out your thoughts. So when you feel the power of worry and anxiety building up in your mind, just speak out the promises of God. Memorise key Scriptures and keep them in your heart.
The Word of God is the sword of the spirit. Anytime you battle anxiety, take out the Word- your sword – and start cutting the enemy down.
God encouraged Joshua not to allow the book of the law to depart out of his mouth. That means that for Joshua to win his battles against the formidable enemies set against him, he had to employ the Word of God as a Spiritual weapon.
Prayer: In the name of Jesus, I reject every spirit of worry and doubt from my mind. Scriptural Reading: Joshua 1:1-9
